The situation is back to normality in Sol Meliá Cuba hotels
2008-09-11
“All tourists currently in Cuba are safe and sound, as the operational conditions, facilities, services, supplies and communication means in the hotels operated by Sol Meliá gradually return to normal in the largest island of the Antilles”. The following was stated by Francisco Camps, Sol Meliá Cuba’s Operation Manager, as he informed on the situation of tourists in the company’s facilities, following the damages caused by hurricane Ike to several Cuban resorts.
He also stated that “The first priority for Cuba is the safety and wellbeing of its people and tourists.
You can rest assured that the protection extended to tourists in our hotels has been thorough, even during the relocation of guests to other hotels in the same tourist destination. I repeat, in all cases and despite unfavorable conditions, we tried to cause our clients the least amount of discomfort possible. I would like to confirm that the necessary human and financial resources are being allocated in order to promptly restore telephone service in Holguín and Cayo Coco and Cayo Guillermo, thus enabling clients to contact their relatives”
.
“Immediately after the hurricane, a total assessment of the damages to our hotels was made and, in most cases, repairs have begun right away”, said Sol Melia Cuba Operations Manager.
“We hope to inform soon the complete reestablishments of our operations in Cuba”, he added.
