Marine Turtles

Cayo Largo is the most important turtle reproduction site in Cuba and the 4th in the Caribbean. The animals arrive during the night to the beach where they spawn their eggs, away from the tide and predators. You can be part of this effort to protect the turtles.
We are certain that your curiosity will be awaken and that you will come down to watch this the turtles as they reach the beach of this marvelous paradise in search for a safe place to spawn
Qualified personnel will look after the eggs until they are ready to hatch 45 days later, a sight that you can also watch.

Professional dancers from the Sol Pelicano entertainment team delight guests every evening at the hotel's amphitheater with a different show every night.

Our team of professional monitors has organized a wide range of activities such as stretching, volleyball games, aquatic gymnastics and dance lessons. You can also join the bicycle excursions or simply follow our monitors.

Ecological Excursions

Choose from any of our several excursions:
Pueblo Tour: a bus excursion to Villa Isla del Sol for a visit to the local school, clinic, marina and Los Quelonios turtle farm.
Hotel Tour: offers you the chance to meet the persons who work hard to make you will feel at home. Discover the surprises prepared by our recreation team just for you.
Ecotour: enjoy this direct contact with nature. Ecotours enables guests to become acquainted the exotic flora and wildlife endemic to Cayo Largo del Sur and includes a visit to the Arbol de la Llana, a tree over 500 years old; and an exciting bicycle tour around Cayo Largo del Sur; a visit to Villa Isla del Sol, Los Quelonios turtle farm and the hotel complex.
